Okay, which would you choose, taking all the specs into account?
The blackberry beats the iphone on every aspect, except the memory, which is only 1 gig, which means I'll have to buy a memory card.

It also has shitty GPS, but at least you can install garmin navigation to fix that.

I also don't know how Blackberry's packages work. will I have to pay for a special package added to my contract if I go with the blackberry, in order to use the 3G and GPS?

Yeah. I'd go with the blackberry too. It has sweeter juice.


the iphone seems like a bit of a fashion accessory.
Most people I know who own them are tossers.

I agree with all of this except the last sentence. What are you trying to say about me and D?

How does it work though? DO I have to pay extra on my contract to use the blackberry's email and internet functions? Cos I see on the website that Blackberry packages are priced different to regular ones and I was told this is due to the different email and net use.

ALso, how much would a 8 or 16 G memory card cost me, since the blackberry only has 1g.

I've had this for almost 2 months now...really cool. Only thing I think would have been a 'nice to have' is wi-fi! It dont have that, but its not that much of a problem as I get 3G coverage in most areas...just cant link to my home network.  :(
Not sure how the packages work on your end but if you can get unlimited internet on your contract then its all good. ;D

Yeah, thats another down for me. Since 3G internet is ridiculously priced over here and not available everywhere, I use the Wi-fi on my iphone a lot. Especially for downloading apps and checking my mail when I'm in hotspots.

This doesn't have that, so it loses another point. How is your gps? does it have turn by turn navigation or did you get the garmin plug in?

I'm not getting a new contract, so that means I wont have unlimited net.

I got the Blackberry Bold, its a beast, its definately 3G capable, all you add is R69 a month for unlimted browsing and email. that alone has any phone beat on that. I find The Vodacom SAT NAV GPS very good on it, used it in Cape Town to find my way around. The Bold is way better business phone, plus i dont like that touch screen shit, so the keyboard is for me better option.

i'm loving my iPhone because I work in an all-Apple environment - I was sick of not being able to share diaries and contacts between my phone and my computer. Now my shit is synced up and life is good. I even have all my shit saved in a 'cloud' so if I ever lose my phone _and_ my computer I'm still good.

the iPhone also has the best usability of any phone I've ever used. I've even got used to typing on the gla**.
