Pretty much the sample is all that is there, rest is just short laying off other instruments.
Just get the instrumental and bump it, its not what you will expect.

By simple i mean, very open. For example the songs i mentioned had Just one or two instruments spaced out over simple drums.

jay-z's hard knock life, simple drums, simple ba**line, and a dope looped up sample. Not at all saying its lazy but solid in its simplicity.

yeah, i also saw that on something really simple...i think it was Sway from Tech and Sway doing some MtV Cribs type show...after they go through Scott's cars and what not, they hit the lab and he plays a coupla notes...he plays the still Dre piano with pitch bender, the whole sample was him on the keys...he plays that and the fat joe Lean back

that reminds me, Fat Joe Lean Back is another simple beat  8)
