Heal the Hood Projects First Fund-Raiser a**isted in arranging transport for youth from Khayelitsha, Delft, Manenberg, Lavender Hill, Mitchells Plain and Gra**y Park to attend Jams and workshops throughout the Cape Flats. We have also a**isted youth with School Fees already. We taught 15 dancers to continue teaching in Delft, Khayelitsha and manenberg. Money raised from this event will go to a**ist youth with transport to attend further events including AFRICAN , Battle of the Year. Heal the Hood has just secured the rights to host Battle of the Year Africa, which is the African elimination for the World Breakdance Championships. It will also a**ist other African Countries with accomodation when they are in Cape Town in August.
Emile YX? of Black Noise initially created Cape Flats Uprising as an informal record, publishing and clothing label. Heal the Hood Project has adopted the idea of a**isting youth with transport expenses to attend dance events and a**ist with paying school fees of those youths willing to work hard and be dedication.
This year sees Black Noise celebrating there 21st Anniversary and fee of the members will be tourig around South Africa to create heal the Hood project in each province. Thereafter Black Noise will release a new CD, DVD, book and documentary.
