 FOR me the best lyricist to have blessed the mic on our shoreS, even tho his career was short lived:
  MR DEVIOUS. he had the best flow, he had the concepts, he had the delivery.
maybe many might not agree as most of his was venacular spits, but always on point.

2nd on the list be the hardcore spitting rhyme schemes of optical illusion's GOLDEN SHOVEL.
raw, rugged flow that makes many whack cats spine tremble.

3rd on the list, debatable in my mind still as he cud be sharing the 2nd spot:
DPEE's gonna love this: BEN SHARPA.
always on point and tru to the art, lyrics that tackle today issues and the rhyme scheme that is top notch.

Shovel is a beast, but inconsistent. Thabs (and Knofab) is too far up his own arse. Devious was great, but now isn't. Mawe2 is overrated. Krooked is pretty dope.

most of us be freestyling mcee's a lyricist is one who writes most and his freestyle being limited.

nb# freestyle is mostly for upcoming mcee's, establiseed cats keep they focus on what will be on the nxt project. hence the lyricism.

My problem with these lists "top this and top that and best whatever" is that it's always the same names that come up
I think Hip Hop in SA needs a fresh new injection of Young cats to really rise to the challenge.

Taking nothing from the names mentioned I just think this generation has done it's thing and there doesn't seem to be young blood
ready to take it and run with it.
