This guy has done really well. Congratulations to him.
I do however think his record breaking days are now over.
I think he has pushed the envelope as far as it could have been pushed.
Id like him to prove me wrong though.
i think that if he breaks anymore of his records then it will depend on his competition, if he has no one pushing him he has nothing to prove.
case in point the 100 m final was broken by him and Gay even though he won, if the preasure is on, he will push him self, if it isnt whats the point, hes a few steps ahead of all his peers. as it is no one will be close to taking it from him even if he doesnt run, the closest in the 100 m was 9.77 i think and that still broke the previous record.
i don't know gents..the last time that boy had competition was stockholm(last race before olympics) when he came 2nd to Powell. since the olympics he's literally been running against himself..
just for rebuttal sake July, the 200m race last nite was a foregone conclusion, had Gay been there or not! he won by 10m and he was fading at the end coz he was still fatigued.. there was a headwind of -0.3s.. it would be naive to think that after these championships, he wouldn't SHATTER those records again!
imagine wat he cud do with the wind behind his back below the legal limit(perfect conditions i.e)? i do hear wat u're saying though.. i think thats why he wants to move on to the 400m now! and best believe the 400m athletes don't want this.. hahahaha!!
Michael Johnson shame...
