it depends if gonna make calls on the line or not, in my case i dont, i just use it for the intercom which is paid by the body corp, i think the voice line rental is around R130, so total cost is around 530...

I use my sony erricson w850i as a modem which is ok for general surfing.
if you download with this connec do so at night and if its big files like a movie (600meg to 1.4gig) then use torrents so u dont lose the data you downloaded.
Takes me a few days to download amovie if I leave the phone hooked up.A week if I only connect at night.

I am down to a 5oomeg data bundle for R190 +/- a month.
I know that with hsdpa the databundles are more expensive tho.

4MB, 5 gigs international cap + 30 gig local cap. If I run out of international I get more for R70 a gig but thats the worst case scenario. Appx R800-1200 a month incl the telephone line.

I recommend a 384 line though if you just using the web for standard internet.

Blondizzle, I recommend switching to the Axxess deal. For the same monthly fee you get uncapped international bandwidth. It also runs at full line speed on weekends and after hours, regardless what contract you are on, eg. you sign the 384 deal with them, but you rent a 4mb/s line from Hellkom. Your speeds will be 4mb/s after hours and on weekends, but you still only pay for the 384. Business hours you will be running on 384, but still have unlimited bandwidth.
