Bob Marley will be good to make you sink deep to the sound.
Eric Donaldson has nice sing along melodies.
Culture has a rich sound.
Peter Tosh is hardcore.
Berning Spear is for gaining wisdom.
Gramps Morgan has just released an album with a great lead song " Wash the Tears".

Thanks guys! One love.

Of course, my prob is that I'm a fiend for buying CDs, so this (along with my ever-expanding 'To Buy' hip-hop list) is going to bankrupt me. I trust I can crash at one of yours when I'm evicted.  ;D
Why? Optical media format will soon be obsolete. Some laptops don't even come with optical drives anymore.
CD's take up space. Use more power during playback. Get scratched.

Oh for f***'s sake.

Tate, you worked with me on the Hiphocalypse. You know me. When have I EVER indicated that I would give something up because it's obsolete?

I love CDs. I started listening to music when vinyl was on the backfoot, so it's always been CDs that I've bought and treasured. I love everything about them. I don't wish to tread out arguments you've all read a billion times, but the physical object is better. It makes the pleasure centres of my brain jump around going "woweeewoweewowowowoweee!". This isn't always the case - I'm no advocate for reel-to-reel tape recording over digital, for instance - but for music it's a little different.

Yes, they take up space, use more power and get scratched. But I love 'em. And you, who also came up in the era of CDs and scratchy dubbed TDK tapes, should know better. :)

I'll take a reggae collection of (eventual) monolithic proportions which I can sit and flick through, stash away and show to my kids someday.

Honestly though, ...you be better off switching over to vinyl, you'll find some reggae jewels on vinyl, that never made it to lazer disc, plus it's a much more worthy format worth saving!! If you know where to go, I guarantree you, you will find some fresh reggae marked down for a better price on vinyl, then you will on CD! Smoke a fat spliff, and go dog for records, the good one's will find YOU! ;D

I've nothing against vinyl, but it is more practical and easier for me to buy CDs. Plus, I'm just a CD guy. I came up with them. In the UK, price diff is negligible unless we're talking car boot sales here.

Sadly many of them have vanished or gone online. I still got my secret stashes though!  :D
