I don't want to get into the is it real hip hop or not.

But that first single is a genuine hit song.

It's musically perfect and if there is any fairness that song will be song of the year (it's probably going to be the Rhythmic Element track, this song is equal even better to me).

For that I bow down to those cat, they made something rare and brilliant...
A utterly commercial song with intergrity.

I havent gotten a chance to listen to the whole album, "K'shubile" & "We run the city" the 1st 2 singles are nice, they got me interested, but the third one kinda put me off, Gzogo zogo(something like that)....

I'm still to be moved by this kwaito/house sampled hip hop beats...the ones i've heard so far, for me they really lack that hip hop punch, they sound more kwaito than anything...and the hooks dont help much....

I'm starting to rethink this whole kwaito/hip hop thing. I've always found something misssing from local Hip hop, but I'm totally comfortable- not loving, but at ease with this kwai-hop sound.
Afterall, it's about the lyrics innit?

It's about the lyrics se voet. When you chillin in the club/at a party/u get the point, the lyrics are going to be the furthest thing from ur mind. It's definitely good party music, which is probly what they were after. So props to them. Heads (and I'm not not necessarily referring to you here) need to chill with judging tracks just because they on Kwaito/house/wadeva typa beat. If a track is hot, it's hot. Another thing, arguing whether a track fits as a hip hop track is futile and a waste of time in most cases (especially the whole real hiphop debate). Artists should be judged on a song by song basis (especially with the internet making it so easy to get just one song from an album), and each song should be given its own merit. Yet again, if it's hot, it's hot. Who cares if Tumi does a kwaito track (this is just an example, no need to get worked up now), if that shit's bangin then let it in the door...

I think it was about 3 weeks ago...him and his girlfriend pa**ed away as a result of a motorbike accident as far as I know. Terrible these things are but such is life.

Daym this album sucks balls
