Been using Windows since ver. CE way back, Psion series of palmtops, HP Palmtops, HP Gfx Graphing Calcs, Symbian OS (Sony/Ericsson), Palm Organizers, iPhone (jail$) etc. RIM ('berry strong for business), WinP 7 Office Exchange integration, Droid with Google Apps etc.
HP bought palm i think and now coming with their own OS. , Samsung Galaxy Tab killaH already released.
Acer dropping Netbooks, DON'T cop netbooks.
Motorola flipped since the flip phones they had and got the Zoom sumn and Smartphone.
Ipad Us economy not friendly tied, dual touch screen notebooks, & that list will proceed to get that $ or R, digg

HTC firmware and Android  kernel versions on these phones got chained to some extent.
Jail-braking it brings unwanted artifacts back into your ROM, unless you die hard Unix/Linux script guy and work your way round with the SDK.
There's new features and most of the time the Camera, Gyroscopes & sensors etc start buggin..
