Dear TY-D-CPT-021-NKE, can I call you money?
Dear Money, why are you so angry? Have I somehow angered you by stating something which I encounter ever so often in the mean streets of our beloved country. I in no way meant to offend. I apologise sincerely.
Seriously though. Have you ever heard someone rap in Afrikaans, using an American accent? I have. A young coloured guy. I was not implying that only coloured people do this of course, but your theory that being coloured makes it harder for you to make it also holds little water, while people like POC and Black noise are hip hop icons in SA. What about Azuhl? Jaak? Shorty and Wouks etc? Godessa?
It is simply a matter of getting yourself out there and as I see it, coloured emcees, especially the ones in Cape Town, cater to a crowd which really doesn't fit the mainstream mold.
Again, I apologise for hurting your feelings though. It was wrong of me.
I'm sorry.
Love you.
