had an argument with some laaitie other day talkin bout there’s no market for the kinds of concepts i’m on in my tracks. of course i know this to be true for the mob at large but i didn’t like the implication that i need to downgrade my shyt for the sake of appeal… so as i do after most contentious convos i went off and started jotting… what do the heads think?

HOOK
so audiences always be fronting on me on some constant,
“why the boring struggle concepts and ugly stories?”
i answer honestly, “it’s not all hunky dory,
youngsters and shorties have got to be shown this.”

VERSE1
glock cock, big bang, beast awakened! mourning and glory
cradle to grave, gravity deep sink the ship of all relations, warring/whoring stories
boldly soldiers graze plain like horny ogres
thick faction in the lowland dispatched to hold it down:
pinion opp. in position to feel the knock of a piston
and finish off with précis ion surgeons’ (/insurgence) incisions
incursion, giving birth to a vision!
through virgin or vixen, whosever version’s depicted in
i mean, decrypted from religion these days…
reincarnated relics, australopithecus afarensis remains
incarcerated facing, painting pains on ancient frame, cavernous canvas
imagine us, genus image, silhouette, and still you wait with backs to answers
like cancerous cigarettes, carcinogenic ingestion in jest
infect genera since genesis… to extinction
you live - you die, simpleton, resisting this will prove futile
admit impediments and wither gently, marriage of true minds
for death is ever-fixed and the flesh inherited
transferable – every breath perfunctory, the natural order well-equipped
to conquer you mortals… no doors or portals you’re trapped here

VERSE2
lovable or elemental – contraire conundrums trouble the temple
yet some still enter fronting humble to expunge the sense of
uncertainty deep, on the surface heeding the purpose
as the churches perceive it, even further the meaning and tether
the heathens, young unsuspecting bums in need of redemption
sermon says receive them never the converse you silly deacon
dedicated cathode, hard and charged, negative cathartic attack mode
collar for camouflage, philanthro-façade to trap most…
usually truth flies by night, fly by night school and you will find
where human lies, beautiful minds tucked-institutionalized
pupils di-lated, students blind crucified, lives tuned, and who decides?
neither you or i newton and einstein in hind-sight…
time finite, twilight of existence before the dawn of the gift tense
you mourn your children born still with zero kid present
they killed the essence of course, forces con-science to divorce
the elements and follow false lessons taught, wrong school of thought
forever, rebelling be peasant sport but that’s the tool of war
the weapon i faught sorely with for this foolish cause
using the pen as a sword and BLACK ink operated (/incorporated) as uniform
as we moved beyond the MISTy season with songs keeping the heads warm

come on… there has to be some market for this!

all that over an innocent remark, huh?

feel the lyrics, however i hope u didn't merely brush aside this criticism, but reflected on it... remember that " the hushing of criticism of honest opponents is a dangerous thing. It leads to some of the best of the critics to unfortunate silence & paralysis of effort... earnest criticism from those whose interests are most nearly touched- writers by readers, government by those governed and 'musicians by their fans'  is the soul of democracy and the safeguard of modern society." Ya but we gotta remain "conscious" of the reality of our current situation if we want to effect change.

yo konfab, i feel your stuff, tight but just one question?

do you make hip hop for a certain market or you hope to touch as many ma**es as possible, and if you do, for the latter, how do you go about it, for that hip hop lover in a village only exposed to tupac and jigga, that kid in the kasi only exposed to sabc one hip hop, you know what i am getting at, do you make tracks to encompa** those type of people too, just asking?
people see what they want to see. out of a ma** of detailed information, they tend to pick out those facts that confirm their prior perceptions and to disregard those facts that bring their perceptions into question" -someone

Hey K man

Looking forward to them Drudge previews.I'm liking the vibe of the track man.The lyrics speak out.I gotta admit, the general public wont buy into this easily. But one thing I know is they may change their minds if its a commercially viable beat.

Just check Borat last week.He sang that funny song and had ppl singing with him.Its crazy that he got them to sing along but they didnt even really grasp what the heck they were singing. So, in a sens, music is a tool to be used for good and for evil.Currently, majority of it is used for useless purposes over hot beats.

Yo.
I think it's important to write ...ish... for yourself.

Some of your ...ish.. might not be appealing now, but, like Common said, "People don't change, only times change".  What might not be appealing now might be appealing in the future.

Never down grade your ...ish..., 'cause then the quality of hip hop as a whole will decrease, Modimo forbid.

There's always someone out there who likes your ...ish...

This should go for every M.C. out there.
