teargas & live bullets conjure up a ruthless scene
but foreal man this how it was in 76 on June 16
kids 2 tha streets coz they cudnt learnin anything
mighta been different,if tha cops wernt on tha scene
Armed with 'white flags' like tha rags of John the Baptist
& police saw it as an opportunity for target practice
they keep talkin... they keep poundin on tha ghetto
yet forget tho... wot went dooowwn in Soweto!
Bantu Education!!! kids werent fruitfully nurtured
on tha contrary... they were brutally murdered
but with that african spirit they laid a plan ta fight
like Bob Marley said... "Stand Up For Your Rights"
so they got up, they stood up, some may say they were fools
but hell, they tha reason most of us could go 2 school
so lets not blow it ova as just another routine scandal
lets keep em in our thoughts... & light a candle
