Is it me or is PROkid stealing Selwyn's thuder over at Gallo? It looks like PRO has fast overtaken Mr Selwyn & a**umed the role of Gallo's flagship emcee of late..
case in point look @ the main page of AG with PRO headlining with SK NOT Mr Selwyn...

Guarantee PRO is up for & probably will win next best Hip hop SAMA. gallo got the SAMAs on LOCK!

see T8. remember what i told you a while back? Gallo are putting their full marketing effort behind ProKid,,, and rightly so,,, he blows Selwyn out of the water.

There is nothing surprising/confusing about this. It's got very little to do with one emcee overtaking another.

Selwyn's album was released last year. Pro Kid's album was released a few months back. therefore it makes sense for Gallo to be promoting this year's releases as the current "hot" sounds. They have done their bit for Selwyn last year. They took him around the country, TV shows, etc. Now they'll push newer releases. You'll see this if / when Skwatta Kamp releases, they'll be all over thge place just like My Man & Pro Kid right now.

I recall reading an interview where Pro said he was unhappy with how Gallo has been pushing his stug\ff. They reportedly printed only 5000 copies initially & there were people looking for the album & could not find it. He gave them tel. # of Gallo's marketing/ sales office# as a way of putting presssure on Gallo. Maybe this worked. The other thing to keep in mind is that Gallo CEO/deputy CEO Sipho Sithole is said to be a big fan of Pro Kid which is why they signed him in the first place.

yeah,, i spoke to Sipho while we were talking about beats for the album. you could tell he had high hopes for Pro Kid beyond just marketingspeak.
