Motif Records Cd Sampler

So has anyone gotten this cd sampler yet from the Levi Stores?I got a copy today.Pretty good.Nyambz coming with a different feel.Nice one cuz.And who is Tone Mason?Like the productions from this beatsmith.Very nice.For a product u picking up free of charge, u getting a darn good quality piece of work.Dont waste time, go out and get it while stocks last.

Always a pleasure cuz.J got one too.So check if u can get one at Levi.If they all out, u can score the one from J cause I got one already so its all good from our side then.We covered on the goodness tip.

C project got mastered in UK too.Speaking of which, word has it that Sterling Sound (peeps that mastered Little Brothers' album, plus a bunch of other big acts) charge around $1200 to master a full album, after hours rates apparently.Interesting info.

Must say, thats a darn good rate for a top notch mastering studio.Btw, whats the going rate currently in SA for mastering a full album, professionally of course?

is it my imagination or is every retailer jumping on the mixtape bandwagon.

1. visit www.sportscene.co.za or maybe that's sportsscene (extra s ) the tekkie retailer...they had a physical tape they distributed free of charge as well - now the tracks are availablle for download.

2.the new kfc family feast or one of their family meals includes a compilation cd.

and now the levis stores.who's next?

so r companies compensating for the lack of service / quality with a cd now?
dont get me wrong - i like free music as much as the next man , but with the corporates one never knows......

yeah i heard levis doign the distri might be a new way to do shit in south africa witout giving your soul to a record label.How profitable is it to sign to a label in SA? the country is not that big so all you need is trust worthy links across the country that will be dealers of ya product but the biggest task is for you to promote and be enjoyed by the people.u sign with a label they break down ya cash in so many small fragments that shit dont work

so what you are saying is that it's becoming a way of marketing , distribution without the baggage of obligations to a label.
record labels and distribution will have to rethink their strategies then.

They are already feeling the pinch with the advent of digital sharing (peer 2 peer / consumer cd ripping software /hardware.
So if outside playes are making inroads into their core business activity aint they panicking yet?

@ Tek: yeah just go into any Levi's store and simply ask them if they have the CD sampler of Motif Records.They should know exactly what u talking about.Then u put ur details down and off u go.U dont actually have to be scared that they gonna force u to buy a 501 original..........though *shhh* I was fearing that they may work me over on that one. :lol:

@ Meta: u can go to any Levi store.I think there should be one in Golden Acre or Saint George's mall str8.I'm sure there's one in the Promenade in Mitchell's Plain.Check for one in Canal Walk, Cavendish, Tygervalley and V&A Waterfront.

Knaan's track OMG that guy has effortless flow! Knaan is the sheezy...Interesting approach to distribution, wouldnt have chosen the 'vis though...I'm guessing its for the promo CD only as the album proper is in the works. As Self said on UCT radio, "the first hits for free"

the MOTIF mixtape, is HOTT... fav tracks are Syntax and Fifi, i think its track 10, forgot the name, but wow....and track 8...wow. in fact the whole damn album is wow, track 6 is HOTTTTTT!!! hola MOTIF hola...
