after bribing the guard & hustling to get in as it was sold out... on comes DJ Scratch for a measly 45 mins!

Not even doing most of the beatboxing himself- using DAT in the background... didn't have any Capetonian opening hip hop acts, no special guests as promised & all in all a rather lousy show that was a waste of my loot!

actually, f*** him for wasting my time- what did others think?

didn't he work live with a sampler ?!?!??!  8O

in berlin he started beatboxing and recorded it, looped it, then started recording one sample after the other (he made all the sounds himself) and finally looped all of them together .... so he "built" one cla**ic hiphop song after the next ...

There was an opening act called Lark = the Humanizer and that vocalist from Spindle Sect. Wasnt the right crowd or venue for them to perform to on the night. The whole setup was dodgy. As for Scratch...no way was that worth the many. Hook my man Sky189 with one of those samplers. Cant front on the mans snares tho they were pretty on point.

Hey it seems Most didnt enjoy...I saw him on Saturday at the Preset Party at Studio One...He did an hour and a bit and he was mad sick, the crowd was very receptive and  it popped off, he came back for three encores and kicked f***in hard....his snares arent the only thing on point, his scratches and ba** was tight and was working the sampler...
This was actually the third time he's performed on the same bill as Lark, they were ahead of the Roots at a festival in Europe and he liked them.
I thought is was mad tite.....there weren't many heads at the Studio One party... wonder if that had anything to do withit.
Yo I havge mad respect for Sky189 as a fereestyle emcee and as a hip hop practitioner in general but I'm sorry as far as beatbox goes Scratch would straight murder Sky... Scratch is on the same level as Rahzel and Kenny Mohamed...no contest.
NOBODY TELLS ME I'M COOL, HARD TO TALK WHEN YO TEETH CHATTERING.
