yeahbo
went through to jazz cafe in Camden Town armed with a blunt..it was dope...the first thing i noticed was this wa no ordinary zsellout shit. Tajai was seated at a table selling the merchandise and answering questions much like you would imagine a independent has to n orde to pay the bills and keep yr head above water..zion-i opened up the furnace doing justice to amplive's butter beats making me reminisce of a bygone era of terror.
He dropped cla**ics like 'trippin' as well as some of the new material. I consider these cats as the epitomy of underground so i was mad inspired. then the gods came on...Souls of mischief crew! Speaking to A-plus before the set i was asking when they coming to africa he replied, 'it's callin'. Cats were mad humble down to earth too not like they east coast counterparts .They impressed from the first bar,not just for the beats but in the excellence in execution and also in the original way in which each cat delivers the rhyme. The first track was' it could be fatal'...after that the crowd went wild.
Souls put a lotta energy into they set and you can see it from a mile away they aint new to rockin huge crowds. Yeah it was a bunch of white cats but you could tell they knew what they were payin for not just posers as you normally see at shows around cpt. They dropped some of the gems from the new hiero 'full circle' as well as gems from their solo projects also. Two of them is hiero members also, namely tajai and a-plus. The cat who impresed me the mot was phesto-d. he was mad quiet but when it came to the rap he was explosive almost as if he was saving all his energy fi dat!
These cats have got a winning formula. From the raps to the merchandise they pimpin from all angles. Been a dream of mine for some time to see what all the hype about oakland raps is about. cats is definitely veterans...they finish off the set with 'you never knew' then the anthem '93 till infinity'. shit this the stuff we came up listening to.
what more can i say?
This is how jah bless i and i.....mo time ag!
