Faculty of HipHop MC workshop

We watched a movie that will be running at a hiphop film festival on the 26th of may. It orientated itself mainly on freestyling and very little on written which disapointed me - me being a writing mc.

Then we had an open discussion forum with mr fat, ready d, dj eazy, dj azhul, jitz vinger to name a few.

the debates got really intense and heated a lot around 'selling-out', which was aimed mainly at ready d and mr fat. nothing was concluded (as always the case with hiphop or any art conglomarate), as far as i could gather...i could have missed something.

everyone is so opinionated and there views vary so much, that you have to take from everyone's opinion and form your own and become opinionated and firm on it...

let me rephrase..where when and why was this held..I am from the J and the only names i know in that list Ready D and mr fat, which lead me to belive it somethng that happened in the Cape.

am I an MC? nnnnyeah! I am a wordsmith that can MC, mostly I play around with words, rhymes,flow and just say what I want to!

Nope..Not much of a studio MC..I freestyle any chance I get..I have never considered MCing as anything more than something I can do very well, I do not think I have the time to write rhymes that are serious and will fall on deaf ears, So truth be told I don't record coz I have no faith in the audience. I know its arrogant sounding, but I know a lot, when I MC its a serious thing for me what I say needs to be understood for what it is ..my lyrics leave no room to self interpretation...what I say is what I mean, so I until I feel there are people who are listening I can't seriously pen a script! , so I will continue joining word connecting thought flowing rhyming all the while just entertaining the listener.

Sounds like a front huh? So nah I don’t have anything you can hear sorry!

Might do something this year though!

raiko - Thanx for the correction...but i f i recollect, there was a chapter on written which they skipped...but it was only a chapter
