Word Up Hip Hop ma**es. So I read someone's note about battles and figured I should state the ignorance of some cats.
A battle shouldn't be a personal attack.It's about testing eachothers skills and trying to see who can handle the pressure. If you don't battle, don't claim to.If you're more comfortable with scripts, stick to that and perfect what you're good at.Don't cliam it's a freestyle when you know very well that ish is scripted. Too many cats are trying to fool the ma**es with fake images.That aint cool!

Very broad, this one.But for the record, a guy I think is still one of the most hectic on the mic plus very electric is the one they call Garlic Brown.Freestyle or written, he's just deadly and a really nice guy too.Another danger on the mic, and its in Afrikaans, is the bro they call Jaak.Check him out pretty soon within the next few months on a radio near u.Gonna be heating it up.

u shouldnt just battle .... but read books, watch movies, go through shit and nourrish your creativity ...

one of the biggest battlers, supernatural did reading the whole f***in dictionary forth and back for 15 years ...

there is also rhyming dictionaries (also online at rhymes.lycos.com i think), metaphor ditionaries and stuff like that .... lots of material to help u writing and expanding your skills ...

when do u start?

besides that, just go back to that masta ace discussion .... i dont think everyone has to be a killer freestyle battler just to be a good rapper ...

Ya'll missing the point . Mzansi has been starving from hiphop and they need this raw flavor from Vaal, Battle cats working with concepts and messing with mixtapes. one nigga bit me on Schiznit "i can battle gravity wit two elephants attached to me" this is from my demo mixtape. i aint saying im the nicest but a lot o this S.a heads are fonney!!! i got a boy who killed mad scientist and nobody peep that or placed it on the pedistul. Battle wise i think heads should take it to da streets.

i agree. battles start on the streets so why shouldn't they remain there?
1 problem i have with sa battles is that usually the crowd decides who wins and who looses. i've seen many-a-dope-emcee get killed by a weaker emcee, just because the crowd wasn't familiar with them. and a good 80% of the time, the crowd is a bunch of wannabes who don't listen to the battles lyrical content, but to the way the person they know is delivering raps. not to say delivery isn't important.
my point is that popularity doesn't mean skilled emcee.and if people realised that, i'm sure the 50 Cents,Ja Rules and Nellys of this world wouldn't be where they are today.
