Accomplished poet, writer, activist, and educator are just a few choice words to illustrate this emerging dynamic superstar. Audiences and fans alike are beginning to discover the answer to that question as they currently flock in droves to the 24-city Breed Love Odyssey Tour sponsored by mega-giant Playstation.

Hailing from Rochester, New York, Amir Sulaiman is a featured poet on HBO Def Poetry Jam, and highly regarded as a “vanguard in the spoken word movement” amongst his peers. As a result of memorable performances on the program, he was personally hand-picked by rapper/actor and Def Poet host, Mos Def for The Breed Love Odyssey Tour starring Talib Kweli, Pharoah Monch, and Jean Grae. Amir has been hitting the road wowing audiences as the opening act for the shows. More recently he’s been given the supreme task of introducing the acts on the bill, a direct consequence of his key impact and positive feedback on the tour.

An American-born Muslim of African descent, this energetic & vibrant personality began writing poetry at the ripe age of twelve and since then, he’s performed at colleges, universities, bookstores, and coffee shops as a student of North Carolina A&T. In his sophomore year he released his debut poetry collection “Words of Love, Life, and Death”. Amir’s work has been published in The Hazmat Review, All That Jazz, and Sauti Mypa. After obtaining a B.A. in English from North Carolina A&T, he moved to Atlanta and released his breakthrough CD “Cornerstone Folklore” reaching cities such as D.C., NY, Oakland, San Francisco, Norfolk, Richmond, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Raleigh. In 2004 Amir dropped “Dead Man Walking”, a 19 track spoken word album widely hailed as both inspirational and motivational..

In what promises to be his biggest album release yet, Amir Sulaiman is due to release “Like a Thief in the Night” in early 2006 on Uprising Records. This highly anticipated new album boasts appearances from Mos Def, Goapele, M-1 (of dead prez) and The Last Poets. As a key player in the Breed Love Odyssey Tour, a major stepping stone on his path to greatness, Amir Sulaiman is preparing the masses for a stellar New Year.
