The Mobshop Revisited

While clearing out the attic we came across some old issues of the Mobshop magazine. The magazine was founded by Ferdinand Isaacs in the mid 90’s and was a South African hip hop orientated magazine. Distribution was tight in those days and only a few copies exist.

The magazine was an A5 size, usually photocopied and attached together with staples. It experienced various editors throughout it’s run and attracted a lot of controversy amongst the Western Cape hip hop crowd. It was usually distributed at the local hip hop matinee (Saturday afternoons at Club Angels in Greenpoint, Cape Town).

GOOSE BUMPS I was the reason TKZEE decided to do thier trinity album in Capetown. That led to a couple of jobs for those guys (individually) Kabz-Rebel with a cuase,Loyiso wine women and song Zwai Christmas with Zwai Bala. The GOOSEBUMPS(and little moist in the eyes) is simply because we made that that matinee pump, as coolfunk as much for us as for the Headz. THANK YOU BIG UP and RESPECT
