"A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, existed a music so out of this
world, so unbelievably funky that whole universe used to get down to its
infectious rhythm. It was a time of wild abandon, of over the top hedonism
of downright decadent debauchery, it was the time of ***D.I.S.CO.****."
For years the dark forces of the universe have tried to suppress this
music's raw energy and manic playfulness. But the resistance is gathering,
from every corner of the universe the Sleaze Syndicate has gathered
together the strangest array of intergalactic groovers, space cowboys,
soul invaders and astro-naughties for the biggest Retro onslaught ever. So
slip on those boogie shoes, slap on some glitter and go right over the top,
coz it's time to fight back!

Hollywood's Negrophobia:
By Brian e Ebden

Hollywood has a distinct history of depicting their notion of historical
fact, cultural social expression and most importantly stereotypes of
whomever they (Hollywood) deemed as unfriendlies.
In the past, the Japanese, the Chinese, the North Vietnamese, the Russians,
the Germans, blacks generally and indigenous Americans received a right and
proper pasting in their (Hollywood) movies. Who can ever forget the
countless movies depicting the hapless Vietcong and Russians as screaming
bloodthirsty villains who turn out to be nothing more than cannon fodder
for vainglorious Anglo-American heroes who against tremendous odds, always
end up battle scarred but victorious.
In tandem with this, the gay and lesbian communities have had more than
their fair share of negative stereotypical portrayal. The black community
in particular has been a victim of cruel and covert negative depiction on a
number of levels. The historical dramatization and portrayal of black
history, subjective positioning, status and role in society at large has
been at best dismal and at worst, flagrantly racist. Against a backdrop of
scores of "Cowboy" movies depicting indigenous Americans (Indians?) as
enraged demented killers, only two movies clearly stood out for truth and
justice for them, historically speaking. "Soldier Blue" featuring Peter
Strauss and "Dances with Wolves" with Kevin Costner sort of addresses the
wholesale slaughter of millions of innocent "Indians" and grand scale theft
of their land. This "truth" was only revealed with the assistance of one or
another philanthropic Caucasian in the lead. Movies indicating the valiant
but unsuccessful struggle by the "Indians" against this mass genocide and
land grabbing has never been shown in its true context, with the dubious
exception of Geronimo. This movie of a true "Indian" hero for all intents
and purposes is a fairly docile attempt at correcting the madness and
horror of white America's shameful past. The exquisitely shot "At play in
the fields of the Lord" once again taints itself by having the customary
altruistic Caucasian in the lead. Remember the movie "Cry Freedom" was
supposedly about Steve Bantu Biko, or was it? The Mission is a brilliant
movie yet it deals with the mass extermination of South American "Indians"
as a mere sideshow to the main story.
Black history has and continues to be brutally misrepresented. Classic
movies like The Bible, Jesus and Hannibal depict Jesus, Moses and Hannibal
Barca as Caucasians. Yes, Napoleon Bonaparte did utter the phrase, "History
is a lie agreed upon", but black people and historical fact exist
presently. Why these people of historical significance are constantly and
perpetually displayed and promulgated as white people when the truth is
that they were undeniably black is despicable to say the least. The recent
blockbuster "The Mummy" which attempts in a covert way to grossly distort
the truth of the black scientist, Imhotep, as being a deranged and evil
magician, is far from the truth. If one goes onto the Internet on IAfrica's
search engine and requests information on Imhotep, guess what answers you
get?
Why then the almighty hullabaloo about this? It is frankly that movies have
become the source of reference of particular fact for a tremendous amount
of people around the world. But most importantly, it shapes impressions,
creates and sub-consciously suggests decisions and sets out made-to-order
assumptions of individuals and communities.
Blacks have been viciously left out of the loop in terms of fact, accurate
description and responsible portrayal when one sees movies like
"Schindler's List" as opposed to "Amistad". The latter is a lame and
pitiful attempt at addressing and highlighting the plight of 100 million
stolen and uprooted Africans during the Trans Atlantic journey and
subsequent sojourn in North and South America. The epic, "Glory" does
portray black people in a heroic and positive light but at the same time
fighting for someone else's cause and not their own. Caucasian producers
even tampered with Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" to inaccurately leave for
eternity a tainted historical source of reference of a great man like
Malcolm. Mario Van Peeble's was instructed to include a white male as a
Black Panther in his movie "Panther" by these Hollywood producers in an
fatuous attempt to include the typical white magnanimous individual to play
a central role in what was a completely black movement.
The biographical movie "What's love got to do with it" of singing legend
Tina Turner showcases the black male stereotype in the form of the brutal
Ike Turner. "Boys in the hood", "CB40", "Higher Learning" and the many
others in this genre goes not a step further, even if it was produced,
directed and whatever by black men. If this is the case of black men
expressing themselves in this manner, equal depiction of positive
self-respecting and productive black males must balance out these
individual cases. Sadly, there has been none except for a socially diluted
"How Stella got her groove back" and the odd Will Smith, Denzel Washington
and Wesley Snipes fictitious space cadet drivel. Other black male actors
play very soft or negative roles by comparison to the hordes of movies
depicting white males as heroes and outstandingly productive citizens. Even
"Forrest Gump" makes a mockery of itself in that a white physically and
mentally challenged individual can achieve breathtaking miracles as opposed
to the bubble-lipped shrimp fisherman, "Bubba". White serial killers,
homicidal maniacs, Mafia type characters et al is all glorified in their
Hollywood portrayal. The closet anyone came to portraying positive
self-made and independent images of men of colour was Lee Tamohri's "Once
were warriors". But once he was supposedly introduced into the Hollywood
set, became complacent and directionally inept. The true story and
complete expression of black people has yet to be told, from the stories of
the Aborigines, the Moari's, the whole African saga and black and brown
people in the America's as it is being illustrated unequivocally and
unrepentantly by Indian and Chinese filmmakers.

EISHHHH JOE!
There was this virgin that was going out on a date for the first
time and she told her grandmother about it. So, the grandmother
says "Sit here and let me tell you about those young boys.
"He is going to try and kiss you, you are going to like that but
don't let him do that.
"He is going to try and feel your breast, you are going to like
that but don't let him do that.
"He is going to try and put his hands between your legs, you are
going to like that but don't let him do that.
"But most important, he is going to try and get on top of you
have his way with you. You are going to like that but, don't let
him do that, it will disgrace the family."
With that bit of advice, the granddaughter went on her date.
The next day she told her grandmother that her date went just
like she said. But she said "Grandma, I didn't let him disgrace
the family. When he tried, I just turned over, got on top of him,
and disgraced HIS family..."
===============================================================
a husband and wife noticed that their little boy's penis was
a little too small so they took him to the doctor. They
expressed their concerns to the doctor. The doctor said to
feed the little boy lots of toast. The next morning, the
wife gets up really early and makes a huge stack of toast...
... When the little boy comes down to breakfast, the mother
says, "Take the top two slices. The rest are for your father."
