Last week, Roach Gigz released his new mixtape, Roachy Balboa III. The tape, premiered by The FADER, has earned strong early feedback, and with momentum growing, Roach is back today, on the heels of having RBIII selected as Stereogum’s Mixtape Of The Week, with the latest in what will be a string of new videos from RBIII, this one for a party track dedicated to the rapper’s beverage of choice: beer.  Crack A 40″ features a verse from Kool John, a member of the HBK Gang that includes rapper Iamsu! and producer P-Lo, both of whom are also featured on Roach’s mixtape.

The track, which is produced by Trev Case, also serves as a strong entry point for those that haven’t yet heard the tape – like the best of what Roachy Balboa III has to offer, “Crack A 40” shows off Roach’s enrapturing personality and penchant for witty, occasionally-raunchy punchlines. The video, directed by Robert Mojica, picks up right where the song left off: “The vibe was just fun,” says Roach. “The song is about a night of fun so we just brought that to life at the video shoot. Pretty girls and 40’s flowing like Cristal.”

Roachy Balboa III, which features Iamsu!, Kreayshawn, and Clyde Carson, along with production from DJ Two Stacks, P-Lo, and Nick Catchdubs, is out now.
