Afrikaans Hip Hop group Kallitz have been selected to provide the background music for Die Burger’s latest radio spot.

‘die ding ruk mal’ by Afrikaans Hip Hop group Kallitz is the background music for a new radio advertisement by Cape Town daily Die Burger. The jingle advertises a new early home delivery service of Die Burger along the West Coast.

The advertisement opens with a person tuning a radio dial in search of the ‘right’ station. It eventually lands on Kallitz’ hit song ‘die ding ruk mal’. A voice over then informs listeners that Die Burger carries all the news, and that early morning home delivery is available all along the West Coast.

Gerjo Hoffman of Die Burger explains: “We proudly support SA music and over the last couple of months we have build a close relationship with Kallitz and their record label Mothermix Records. Their hit song ‘die ding ruk mal’ is already something of an anthem at our offices, and so it was a natural choice to use the song for Die Burger’s newest early morning delivery service. Want dit ruk ook mal!”

Alexander Gregori of Mothermix Records adds: “We have done a number of cross promotions with Die Burger. They have a lot of young, enthusiastic people working at that newspaper, and we are very proud that they have chosen Kallitz’ hit song ‘die ding ruk mal’ for their latest radio ad.”

The advertisement will be aired on P4, KFM and community radio stations along the West Coast.
