There has been a call for all spontaneous dancers in Gauteng schools, to partake in a life time opportunity to showcase their talent on huge platform. The Dance 2 Yo Rhythm, Hip Hop talent competition forms part of the Gauteng Carnival 2013. This project is powered by the Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation with the intended effect of powering the youth through fun mediums like dance and to also highlight safety in these communities by combating teenage pregnancy, underage drinking and drugs in the community. The carnival has over 15 000 people in attendance, thus creating the biggest platform in the country for an upstart dancer, graffiti artist, poet or emcee.

Grayskul, the Seattle duo made up of rappers Onry Ozzborn and JFK, release their video for “Face and the Fang” today. The video, shot by Eric Miller, provides nightmarish imagery to match the dark lyrics of the track and is the first released from their upcoming album Zenith. The visual features each rapper in settings that fit their individual styles: Onry being the more mysterious half and JFK having a more aggressive rap approach. Onry simply explains it as “a day in the life of your neighborhood vampire and ghost ninja out trappin’. You know, the everyday norm.”

Austin, Texas rap group League Of Extraordinary Gz release their video for “Attitude” today on VEVO. The J. Jones-produced track is the lead single off of the League’s upcoming debut album, #LeagueShit, which will be released on October 15th. The video, directed by Zach Villifana, was inspired by recent fan reaction. “When we performed the song live,” recalls the League,” it was well-received – real high energy and it evoked emotions that anyone could relate to. We wanted to deliver a video that brought the same energy and emotion.”

On September 4th, SL Jones will release his new mixtape, Way Of Life No Hobby. Following in a string of recent collaborative projects – SL previously worked with M16 for this year’s Trapper’s Delight and DJ Burn One for last year’s Paraphernalia – Way Of Life No Hobby is produced entirely by Metro Boomin, whose other recent work includes producing the singles “Karate Chop” and “Honest” for Future, in addition to work with Gucci Mane, Wiz Khalifa, Trinidad Jame$, and others. Producer and rapper Black Milk has announced his upcoming 22-city No Poison No Paradise Tour, set to begin September 20th in Dallas, Texas. Joining the tour is live band Nat Turner (Aaron “Ab” Abernathy on keys and vocals, Malik Hunter on bass, and Z Horton on drums, with Bill Sharp as DJ), as well as guests Quelle and DJ Sober. Black Milk will perform music from his new album, No Poison No Paradise, which is due out October 15th via Fat Beats/Computer Ugly. “I’m looking forward to hitting the road again with a new album on the way and new music to perform,” says Black Milk, “Nat Turner and I have great chemistry together, and we push the show to …

Casual of the hip-hop supergroup Hieroglyphics has announced the start of his Clash Of The Titans tour with fellow legends of the late ’90’s, The Alkaholiks and Cali Agents.  These industry veterans will be bringing newcomers Cisum Tomorrow ft. Wes Nyle and S.B. Baby Cougnut & DJ Twelvz as openers.  Clash Of The Titans begins in Santa Cruz, CA on August 14th and concludes in New Orleans, LA on September 24th. The image of the president embodies the theme of the album. He’s autonomous with the public interest and being its custodian (keeping it, keeping the public’s interest). The title is also a factor here, because, even though it is Black Moss’s personal experiences, ‘public interest’ insinuates a more universal viewpoint, rather than an individualistic take on the views expressed.
